I know we were all surprised when Israel was viciously attacked by the terrorist group, Hamas. The
sickening carnage and horrific slaughter could only be perpetrated by evil, un-civilized, and depraved
people. I expected the massacre to be soundly condemned worldwide (with the exception of the
monsters that committed the crime and other Jew-hating nations). For the most part, that was true.
But even among the western nations, there were pockets of Palestinian sympathizers. What appalled
me the most, however, was the anti-Jewish sentiment in our own nation.
Across the United States on college campuses, hundreds of college students gathered in support of
Hamas. College students were sympathizing with the unspeakable violence…including the murder of
women and children. I could scarcely believe what I was seeing and hearing. What are our children
being taught in these colleges and universities? I’ve known for some time that left-wing ideologies were
being foisted on the kids as “education”, but never did I suspect teaching such hatred for Israel to be in
the curriculum.
Here’s why that worries me so much. As I’ve said many times, the United States is not and never has
been God’s nation in the same sense as Israel. But it is a nation that enjoyed God’s blessings and
protection because we were formed with Biblical, Christian principles as our guidelines. We
acknowledged the one, true God and invoked his graciousness and presence in our laws and lifestyles.
All the while, siding with and supporting the nation of Israel. The Bible says God will bless those who
bless Israel. We have enjoyed that blessing.
But in that passage in Genesis 12, God pronounces a curse on those who curse Israel. America has done
many things in the last few years that caused me to fear for God’s omnipotent hand to be removed from
us, but we are now raising up a generation bent on doing just that. We need to call out and condemn
these elite, anti-semantic universities and, somehow, eradicate the ideologies being taught to our
younger generation. Remember…they’re the next politicians that will guide our country. It’s easy, now,
to see the direction of their leadership if something isn’t done.
Increase your prayers for Israel, pray for our younger generation that is being taught such ideologies.
Say good things about your Savior and His church on this mountain!
