New Movie about Jesus

A movie was just released that claims that Jesus was a vegetarian. From what I gather, the point of the
movie is that Jesus was not only a vegetarian, but also actively opposed the killing and eating of animals.
In fact, the movie claims that the cleansing of the temple was not about making money off of the sale of
sacrificial animals, but the killing of the animals. Of course, there were a couple of other scriptures they
had to reinterpret in order to come to their conclusion that Christians should be vegetarians. And they
strongly insinuate that Christian leaders purposely hid this information from us.
Do folks have nothing better to do than to think of new rules and regulations for following Christ?
Didn’t Christ set us free from meaningless rules, rituals, and regulations? Read Galatians 5:1-6 where
Paul speaks of circumcision no longer being necessary. It was a law of God in scripture, yet Paul said
that the law did not make us right with God. In fact, he said that if you kept one law you were obligated
to keep them all. The sixth verse of chapter five says this: “…The only thing that counts is faith
expressing itself through love.“
To those who would tell me that I’m worshipping on the wrong Sabbath or eating the wrong things, I
point out Colossians 2:16-17: ” Therefore, do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with
regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the
things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.“
Jesus, Himself, said: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as
yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37-40 NIV). If
we take those words to heart and live by them, we will live a life so circumspect in a corrupt world that
the world will take note of the One we follow. And it will have nothing to do with whether or not we eat
bacon.
Say good things about your Savior and His church on this bluff.
