The headline for a news story said this: “Attacks against churches doubled in 2023, report warns:
‘Growing disdain for Christianity’”. A “growing disdain for Christianity”? Absolutely. I’ve been
saying that for some time. Christianity and its accompanying lifestyle is unabashedly being marginalized
and maligned in the public sphere. The government, in an attempt to pay homage to the Constitution,
says that we can worship as we like. However, they tell us we can’t practice our religion in the public
sphere. And, if we base our opinions and actions on Biblical teachings, we are out of line. No less that
Jerry Nadler, a prominent member of the House of Representatives, said this during a Congressional
hearing: “God’s will is of no concern to this Congress.” It can’t get any clearer than that.
So, we are told to keep our religious convictions and beliefs out of our politics and out of our workplace.
I ask you, is that freedom of religion? If our children are forbidden to wear Christian T-shirts to school
and ladies are not permitted to wear cross earrings in the workplace, is that freedom of religion? If a
group of Christians cannot pray silently across the street from an abortion clinic, is that freedom of
religion? When Barak Obama was president, I heard his on several occasions refer to “freedom of
worship” in place of “freedom of religion”. Those are two radically different ideologies. But that is
exactly how our liberal, Christian-hating politicians think and it is what they are trying to enforce.
Remember, the Constitution says: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Our leaders are not trying to establish a national religion, but they
sure are trying to prohibit our free exercise thereof. They seem to be succeeding.
Say good things about your Savior and His church.
